Is it all men?

Is it all men?

Is it all men who
once their seed is planted
taking root or not begin
seeking other gardens

to once again empty
themselves in the moist
fertile ground of woman.
Not that a garden

grown neglected or
dissatisfied has never
sought another seed, but
it seems more the man

given to wander.
Reaching back to the
days of the hunter, seeking
to sink in his spear so

he can eat and provide
for those who depend
on hunted flesh.
The modern day, with

supermarkets and taxes
humble a man, who
brought low hungers
for conquest. Not that this

should mean infidelity, for
if the hunter shares his meat
his own cubs will starve, and
here lies the essence.

A man depended on
who is strong and
given the warriors respect
will be faithful, returning

home from the hunt to
a garden in bloom filled
with the bounty of his seed
planted in love growing

hale and nurtured. Not
that gardens are passive
for her toils are equal to
the seed planters and

the meat hunters. But
as all women are a mystery
that men can never know
I can only guess.
